RYAN Williams has taken home a gold medal at the 2023 X Games after his winning trick left fans stunned.
X Games viewers have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to the Australian athlete's front flip front bikeflip that secured first place during Men's BMX Dirt Best Trick on Saturday - even though he went on to lose the Dave Mirra's BMX Park Best Trick competition today.
"Randomly turned to the X-Games and Ryan Williams just broke my brain," one fan shared.
Another wrote: "This dirt best trick is crazy!! Ryan Williams is on a whole other level!!"
After his win, Williams said he wants to dedicate his prize money to the family of Pat Casey, a BMX rider who died last month after a motorcycle crash.
On the final day of the weekend event in Ventura, California, 10-year-old Reese Nelson made history by earning a silver medal in the Women’s Skateboard Vert.
Nelson, who is coached by legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk, is now the youngest medalist in X Games history.

Arisa Trew makes history
More history was made today as 13-year-old Arisa Trew won Monster Energy Women's Skateboard Park with a score of 91 points.
Along with her victory Saturday during the Pacifico Women's Skateboard Vert competition, the teenager is the first female in X Games history to win two gold medals for skateboarding.
Tony Hawk is retired from skateboarding
Tony Hawk separated from Riley's mother, Cindy Dunbar, in 1993.
Riley is their only son.
Hawk married his current wife, Cathy Goodman, in 2015 ceremony held in Limerick, Ireland.
Since retiring from professional sport, Tony contributes his time to The Tony Hawk Foundation, which he founded in 2002.
The goal of the foundation is "to respond to the lack of safe and legal skateparks in America."
About Tony Hawk's son
Riley Hawk, like his father, is a professional skateboarder. He turned pro on his 21st birthday.
On February 15, 2022, Frances Bean Cobain revealed she and Riley are in a relationship.
Cobain is the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain.
Part of Cobain's Instagram post read, "2021 brought me more into the present moment than I've ever been, which I'm deeply grateful for. I wanted to share a few moments that were captured / created this past year that brought me a great amount of joy."

Ten-year-old Reese Nelson made history this year by earning a silver medal in the Women's Skateboard Vert.
Reese is now the youngest medalist in X Games history.
Best Trick winners revealed
Gui Khury won the Pacifico Skateboard Vert Best Trick competition.
Second place went to Moto Shibata, while Edouard Damestoy took home the bronze medal.
'Never been done before'
Brazilian skateboarder Gui Khury, 14, has done a trick that astounded the judges and landed him in first place for the Pacifico Skateboard Vert Best Trick so far.
The announcers said that Gui did a trick that had "never been done before."
The teen will face off against legend Tony Hawk during this competition.

X Games fans can't believe that Tony Hawk is competing in today's competition.
One viewer on Twitter said: "Tony Hawk competing in 2023. What a time to be alive."

Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk is joining the competition for the Pacifico Skateboard Vert Best Trick.
The 55-year-old faced a career-threatening injury just last year and came out on top.
He will skate last in the competition against Gui Khury, Jimmy Wilkins, Moto Shibata, and more.

During her last chance to take back the competition, Arisa Trew won her best score of 90.33 - meaning she'll take the gold medal home!
The 13-year-old beat out Reese Nelson, who takes second place with a score of 88.
Yuto wins first place!
Yuto Horigome has just won the gold medal in the Men's Skateboard Street competition after his second run score of 95.66.
Ryan Decenzo ended the competition in third, with a best final score of 88 points.
He's behind Kelvin Hoefler, who won the silver medal with 90.66 points.
More on Pat Casey's death
On June 6, 2023, the 29-year-old BMX racer was pronounced dead.
Police reported Pat Casey's death was the result of a motorcycle accident.
The accident occurred when Casey made an unsuccessful jump attempt at Slayground Motocross Park.
"Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures. However, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene," said the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Yuto Horigome currently remains in the lead with a huge score of 95.66.
Ryan Decenzo is next with a best score of 88.
Nyjah Huston is in line for the bronze medal with a score of 86 points.

Skateboarder Nyjah Huston is going now for his 13th gold medal at the X Games.
The 28-year-old is also a four-time world champion.
Nyjah is currently in third place after his second run.

Born on December 26, 1993, Pat Casey was a BMX racer and motorsport athlete from Yorba Linda, California.
Casey is remembered for his innovative stunts in the sport, which often involved him riding and performing tricks backward.
His signatures included the "decade backflip" and the "double-decade backflip."
He later relocated to Riverside, where he opened his own BMX training ground Dreamyard.
