A WOMAN has been brutally slammed for making her BMW a ''driving hazard'' after bedazzling it in thousands of shiny crystals.

Many drivers have decided to make their cars more personalised, whether it's with a special number plate or adding ''tacky'' gems on the inside interior.

According to the driving fanatic, she spent a whopping three weeks applying the crystals one by one

But now one woman has revealed she bedazzled her swanky BMW vehicle in thousands of teeny crystals - a ''long, long'' process which took her a whopping three weeks in total.

According to the driver, from California, the USA, she spent days sat by her car and adding each of the crystals ''one by one'' and chuckled that she had a lot of ''patience''.

Although some may reckon that using a ''diamond wrap'' would certainly be a better alternative, the woman, only known as @crystals.motors, explained why she hadn't opted for this instead.

''Unfortunately, it’s almost impossible, because you can’t apply vinyl with crystals on the car, it will peal off.''

However, with the crystals being attached with glue, the driving enthusiast revealed she's had to come up with a rather unique way of washing her bedazzled BMW.

Instead of heading to the nearest carwash - or waiting for the rain - the woman reportedly uses a make-up brush.

This, the cleaning fan proudly demonstrated in a video, involves dipping the soft brush into a bowl full of soap and water before gently going over the car in circular motion.

''Long, long days. One by one! Do you have so much patience?'' the woman wondered in the now-viral clip, which has racked up close to 15million views in just three days.

But although she may be all chuffed with the outcome - and gobsmacked strangers on the street are sure to stop by - not everyone's a fan of the makeover.

Thousands of people raced to comments, where hundreds slammed the driver for one reason in particular - the road safety.

One concerned TikTok user wondered: ''Is it a driving hazard? Serious question considering the sun.''

Another agreed, sharing their horror story after their partner had done a similar makeover.

''My wife had a bedazzled steering wheel cover, whenever the sun hot it, I went blind.

''I hated it and ripped it off. This is impractical and dangerous.''

Someone else chimed in: ''All I see is an expensive ticket.''

Others, meanwhile, admired her patience, with one writing: ''I'd lose my mind within 5 minutes.''

''Me finishing half the panel door and starting another hobby,'' a social media joked.

However, as cute as some may think a shiny car is, experts have advised to steer clear from this trend.

According to The Highway Code, embellishing your car is dangerous as this could be deemed as ‘'careless and inconsiderate driving’', This is Money reported.

This is because such bling can be distracting not only to the driver of the vehicle but also to other motorists on the road, the pros added.

What about a fun steering wheel cover made of a fluffy material?

This is another makeover trend to best give a miss, as the material can affect the grip of your hands on the vehicle.

And the same goes for your gear stick and hand brake- as you need to have access to it at all times.

If you lose control of your steering wheel due to lack of grip from the cover, you could be fined for dangerous driving and the punishment could lead to up to 11 points on your license being added.
