Covering the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers are NFL veteran Nate Burleson, play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle, and Nickelodeon favorites SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Starr.

And it seems safe to say this team has gone down well with viewers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Hahahaha this is hilarious," tweeted one fan.

A second replied, "What in the world am I watching."

As a third said, "Need to have Nickelodeon and SpongeBob do some regular season games next season."

However, not all are convinced, such as one fan who wrote, "Ugliest SpongeBob model I've ever seen."

Sunday's broadcast was kicked off by a performance of a Spongebob favorite, Sweet Victory.

The song was first performed on the show over two decades ago in 2001.

Spongebob, Patrick, and other series regulars were joined by Super Bowl LVIII stars Brock Purdy, Patrick Mahomes, George Kittle, and Travis Kelce - whose girlfriend and pop star Taylor Swift is watching on from the stands at Allegiant Stadium.

One fan on X dubbed the performance, "The only important part of this game."

Along with Burleson, Eagle, SpongeBob, and Patrick, Sandy Cheeks is covering the sideline.

Larry the Lobster is commentating, while Dora the Explorer and Boots are on hand to explain penalties.

NFL Slimetime's Young Dylan and Dylan Schefter are also reporting on the game.
