KANSAS City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes has broken his silence following his dad's DWI arrest.
Patrick's dad, Mahomes Sr., was arrested on Saturday night in Smith County, Texas.

According to an affidavit, Mahomes Sr., formerly an MLB star, was reportedly seen driving with a Coors beer in the center console of his car just before Smith County Sheriffs pulled him over, as per the New York Post.
The report stated that Mahomes Sr. said he "had a few beers while watching a game at a local bar."
He had previously been cited for DWI in 2008 and 2019, spending 40 days in jail after the latter.
Twelve years ago, Mahomes Sr. was also arrested and charged with a DWI in a school zone, as per records seen by The U.S. Sun.

Exactly what occurred following those charges is unclear.
On Monday ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, where his Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers, Mahomes opened up on his dad's situation.
"He's doing good," he said. "I don't really want to get into it too much, but he's doing good for whatever the situation is."
When pressed for more on the subject, Mahomes kept his response brief.

"It's a family matter," he replied. "So I'll just keep it to the family. And, that's all I really have to say at this point."
Mahomes is knee-deep in Super Bowl preparations, having arrived in Las Vegas on Saturday.
