I first saw Julia Garner in Grandma, the 'abortion comedy' movie with Lily Tomlin. I loved the film, and Garner's performance not only stood out to me because of her raw talent, but because she had such a unique look that stayed imprinted in my mind long after I left the cinema.
What I found most divine about the 23-year-old were her unapologetic tight corkscrew blonde curls. Since watching Grandma, I've watched her in Girls and most recently, Netflix's Ozark - and every time I see her on film or in photos, her hair always looks straight-up awesome. My suspicions about her cool girl status were confirmed when I read a piece about how much the Vogue team are obsessed with her. Hear, hear, you guys...
Sometimes she wears her 'do super tight, other times it's a little more relaxed - but it's always just cool. Garner has experimented with several hair hues while filming, from brunette lengths to bright red tones. And she always finishes her look with a really great hair accessory or vibrant red lipstick (which, incidentally look unreal with her piercing blue eyes).
Her Instagram page alone is full of beauty inspo, and she's not afraid of a natural makeup-free selfie. She appears to be a skincare junkie, championing brands such as Josie Maran and treating herself to a sheet mask from time to time.
We predict big things in the young star's future - and not only due to her acting skills, but her carefree, cool-girl aesthetic. Her next move could easily be a huge beauty campaign - we wonder which brand will snap her up first...
