NFL fans accused the Kansas City Chiefs-Buffalo Bills divisional round game of being rigged after a late pass interference call.

The refs threw the penalty flag late as Patrick Mahomes voiced out his frustrations before getting the benefit of the call.

The Chiefs were up 24-21 with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter.

On a third-down-and-six play, Mahomes threw a misfire to his intended target Rashee Rice.

During the play, Rice was bumped over the middle of the field by a Bills linebacker Dorian Williams.

The refs would huddle up and discuss about whether to call a penalty on Williams.

During the delay, Mahomes was up in arms over a flag not being thrown on the play.

Referee Shawn Hochuli and his crew made the decision to call a pass interference on Williams.

However, the replay showed that the defender made legal contact within five yards of the line of scrimmage.

And Mahomes didn't release the ball when the contact was initiated.

Therefore, the penalty should not have been called.

NFL fans were not impressed with the ruling on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One said, "What a horrific call."

Another wrote, "This was obviously rigged."

A third added, "Horrible call."

Kansas City wouldn't score on the drive, but would still come away with the 24-21 road victory.

Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a game-tying 44-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter as the Chiefs will play the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game next week.
