MetLife turf slammed by Dolphins

After the game, Miami safety Jevon Holland discussed the grass at MetLife Stadium.

“Since I’ve been in the league, I’ve heard the field is trash,” Holland said, per the Associated Press.

“I don’t know the statistics or anything like that, but I do know turf does increase the chances of getting hurt.”

On Jaelen Phillips's injury

Miami Dolphins' star pass rusher Jaelan Phillips became the next terrible casualty of Friday night's events at MetLife Stadium.

In the third quarter of the AFC East match, Phillips, who recorded a sack in the Dolphins' 34-13 victory against the Jets in the NFL's inaugural Black Friday game, had a non-contact Achilles injury and was taken off the field.

In his postgame news conference, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expressed uncertainty about the injury to reporters while also seeming pessimistic about the situation.

“It doesn’t look great, but we’ll find out more tomorrow. … I’m not fired up about it,” the head coach said, per the NY Post.

Garrett Wilson says he isn't 'even gonna try this week'

Despite the Jets' offensive downturn this season, Garrett Wilson has remained largely upbeat.

However, he found it difficult to articulate what the team's next move or potential alteration might be.

He was hinting that he had ran out of ways to depict the same scene repeatedly, rather than that he had given up.

"I don't know what I could tell you all, I don't know what to tell the fans," Wilson said in a press conference.

"I don't know what they would want to hear. I'm out. I can't think of anything. I wish I could, man. We want to get this thing rolling. We're gonna keep grinding. We're gonna keep doing it, but as far as giving you all the soundbite or something to keep the faith, man, I don't know. I'm not even gonna try this week."

'It’s been frustrating'

One of the last players out of the shower following the Jets' 34-13 loss to the Dolphins on Friday at MetLife Stadium was C.J. Mosley, per NY Post.

In moments of introspection, the linebacker and team captain sat at his locker stall wearing nothing but a towel and rested his head in his hands.

“It’s been tough, it’s been frustrating,’’ Mosley told the outlet. “But if you’re going to change the culture and change the losing into winning, it’s going to be a lot more cries than laughs. And we’re still in that moment where we’ve got to figure it out.

“It’s hard. We could lose every single game these next couple weeks. We don’t know our future. We want try to put ourselves in position to win every single week. As a defense, we want to come out there expecting to be the best team on the field, but the best way [we] can do that is keep coming to work.’’

'It's a good learning experience'

Before halftime, Jevon Holland converted Tim Boyle's attempt at a Hail Mary into a pick-six as he ran 99 yards in the opposite direction while dodging attempted tackles.

After D.J. Reed's interception, which was Tua Tagovailoa's second of the half, he remarked in the postgame interview that he thought the Jets had momentum, but that changed.

"I've never really seen or been a part of anything like that, but it's a good learning experience," Boyle said in a press conference.

"You have to have a cover plan for just in case interceptions happen like that."

Next match ups

Following their impressive win against the New York Jets, the Miami Dolphins will be facing off against the Washington Commanders next Sunday at 1 pm.

The Jets will play the Atlanta Falcons on December 3 as well at 1 pm.
