CAPTAIN TALKS

Tonight's match-winner gives his thoughts on tonight's game.

It was his first goal in this competition since 2014!

It was a good game, good for the neutrals definitely.
It was nice having the fans back, the atmosphere was amazing.
It was nice to get back on the scoresheet too, it’s something I have been working on in that position.

HOW WE STAND

An early look at the Group B table.

It finished goalless in the other game between Atletico and Porto.

Liverpool top the group.

ROBBO REACTS

The Scotland skipper gives his reaction after the game.

There wasn’t much to sort at half-time.
The space in front of the defence got bigger and they managed to pick spaces.
It was important to fix that at half-time. When you play in this tournament, when these teams smell blood they normally take it.
It was tough but we enjoyed it again in the second-half and got a deserved win.

THE WINNER

A Liverpool skipper smashing in a winner in the Champions League from the edge of the box, eh.

WHAT. A. HIT! 🚀

Jordan Henderson launches a half volley into the corner of the net! No one is stopping a strike like that! 💥

FT: LIVERPOOL 3-2 AC MILAN

Some game this one!

Liverpool lead and went behind before eventually coming out on top in matchday one.

Alexander-Arnold's first half strike had the Reds in front through a wicked deflection off Tomori.

Salah had the chance to make it two from the spot but that was saved.

And in the few minutes before HT, Milan remarkably went in front.

First Rebic then Brahim Diaz bagging in the space of two minutes.

But Liverpool wasted no time in the second-half to draw level through Salah.

Before captain Henderson's peach from the edge of the box handed them all three points.
