The popular TikTok channel, @fleamarketflipper, documents a man and his family's adventures turning used and even thrown-away items into highly profitable sales.

In a recent video, he found a classic Sony Trinitron 13-inch color TV with a vintage gaming remote.

The TV set and computer game screen were a living room staple for decades before being discontinued in the mid-1990s.

The retro gaming TV is still popular with old-school video game fans.

In fact, the thrifting family even played classics like Pacman and Frogger on it before finding a buyer online.

And despite its age and being thrown away for nothing, he sold the vintage TV for $150 on eBay.

With shipping included, the customer paid $190 for a device someone else simply threw in the trash.

And this sale was far from an exception.

MORE FLIPS

Finding and flipping abandoned items is just one way the family makes money thrifting.

They also find and items on Facebook Marketplace, garage sales, and thrift stores.

Sometimes they renovate their finds, while other times they simply flip to the highest bidder.

These range from small easily flipped devices to large pieces of equipment that may need substantial repairs.

In a previous video, they found a genuine large humidor beside the side of the road.

Despite its appeal, the humidor was in disrepair and they needed to shell out $65 to make it presentable.

Yet even after that outlay, they made a $385 profit.

Other items could use repairs but are often easier to just ship for a quick profit.

This includes a vintage ticket booth that cost $100 at a sale, but brought in five times that online.

Often, the difference between what they buy items for in one place and sell them for in another is rather large.

One of the flippers' most profitable coups came when they bought a Downdraft Range Hood oven appliance for $30 and found someone else who wanted it for $1,000.
