The mother won a whopping $1 million on a scratch off lottery ticket, but eased into telling her family the big news.

It all started on Friday, January 29 at a Blue Sky gas station in Tupelo, Mississippi.
The woman walked into the station to buy multiple lottery tickets.
She went with her usual Cash Pop purchase and also landed on the $20 Jackson game after seeing a woman ahead of her buy a ticket.
After a few hours at work, she scratched the ticket and found — much to her surprise — she'd won one of the top prizes, which was worth $1 million.

Upon coming home, she told her kids she had a surprise for them.
“One joked I’d won $1 million," she said. "I gave them cookies instead. They were disappointed; then, I told them I had in fact won $1 million!”
She kept the ticket with her all weekend because she was too nervous to leave it at home, she relayed to lottery officials.
She claimed her prize on the following Monday.

While she plans to continue working, she and her husband can now buy the home they'd been hoping to purchase a lot more easily.
“This is phenomenal,” said Mississippi Lottery President Jeff Hewitt. “What a great moment for this player and her family. With this game selling so well, we knew one of the big winners had to come in any day now.”
There's still a top prize of $1 million and one second chance prize of $1 million remain on this ticket.
There are also numerous lower level prizes available.

The lottery win comes as two other players each won $1 million from another game just minutes apart.
