According to Kreiss, who posts on TikTok under the username @kreissdesign, having fake plants in your home will instantly make your house look cheap.

Taking to the social media to reveal his distaste for fake plants, Kreiss shared his clip with the caption ‘Plastic, dead, and just plain ugly… Please don’t use these in your home! Stay tuned to the end of the video to find out what to do instead.’

He explained: “Please tell me you won't use this in your home - fake plants.

“People are gonna tell you that they're easy to maintain and add life to your space, but I'm here to tell you that they're plastic, dead, and just plain ugly.

“Try this instead - if you don't have the budget or time for real trees, stop by your local farmers market and get flowers when you're in the mood.

“Better yet, go take a walk to your local park and try foraging some branches instead. It's way easier than you think.

“Take a look at one of the world's best stylist, Colin King, doing just that.”

The video has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly amassed 19.7k views.

"I do have a real plant that they can’t get to and then I have a cat tree climbing thing that is like a fake tree.”
