PUT IT TO THE TEST

A popular TikToker (@itskristiii) snagged a $5 Stanley cup dupe from Five Below.

She compared the tumbler to an original cup, which sell for around $20 to $60 on the Stanley website.

In the video, she showed herself filling up both cups with the same amount of ice and water, then sealing the lids tightly.

She explained that the tumbler dupe had a "plastic, lightweight feel to it" while the Stanley had a more durable feel.

After 30 minutes, she checked on the cups and saw that both had the same amount of ice in them.

She noted that the dupe had some condensation on the outside while the Stanley cup did not.

An hour later, the sun came out, and the TikToker could put the cups to "the ultimate test."

She allowed the tumblers to sit in the sun for a bit, and then compared the two.

"The Stanley cup still had a lot of ice left in it while the ice was already melting in the dupe.

"Not bad for $5, but unfortunately the Stanley cup wins," she said.

DEFENDING THE DUPE

Many people in the comments came to the defense of the Five Below tumbler dupe.

"I got an off-white one from Five Below!!! Y’all are taking too long to drink water. That experiment doesn’t apply to me," reads one comment.

"The $5 is great for most people. Most people don't need their ice water cold for six days. We act like we need survival cups plsss," said another.

"For the price of Stanley, if you put ice water in it on Monday, those cubes should still be there Wednesday. I will take the Five Below," commented a third.

OTHER DUPES

Many other Stanley cup dupes are on the market for much cheaper than the original.

For example, Shein was selling a tumbler dupe for a little over $3.

A similar Stanley cup would run shoppers $45, meaning that shopping from Shein would save them around 92%.

The price of the Shein dupe has risen to $13, still making for savings over 70%.

From the brand Instome Home & Living, the dupe comes in five different colors.

The hot pink cup is the cheapest, at $13, but other colors are available for $16 to $18.
