GWYNETH Paltrow joked that her famously controversial baby name for daughter Apple has been dethroned by Elon Musk and Grimes’ newborn son X Æ A-12.
The Oscar winner, 47, and ex husband Chris Martin, 43, named their first child together after the fruit in 2004 and instantly caused a media frenzy.

Four days after the Tesla co-founder, 48, and the pop singer, 32, welcomed their baby boy X Æ A-12, Gwyneth chimed in her thoughts on Instagram.
The Iron Man star commented under a post of the couple that linked to Elon explaining how to pronounce his son’s name.
“#chrismartin I think we got beat for most controversial baby name,” she quipped with the hashtag of the Coldplay frontman who is not on Instagram.
Gwyneth also shares 14-year-old son Moses with her husband of 13 years before they had a “conscious uncoupling” in 2015.

However, it’s their firstborn who’s name caused an uproar after her birth in May 2004.
Apple Martin is widely considered the pioneer of the “crazy baby name” trend in Hollywood.
Despite the mass backlash she received from both the public and the media, she defended her choice four months after giving birth.
During a 2004 episode of The Oprah Show, she opened up to the talk show host about what made them come up with the unique choice.

"When we were first pregnant, her daddy said, 'If it's a girl I think her name should be Apple,’
"It sounded so sweet, and it conjured such a lovely picture for me, you know.
“Apples are so sweet and they're wholesome, and it's biblical,” she said of the couple’s inspiration.
The actress’ comment comes four days after the tech billionaire welcomed his first child with his girlfriend and his sixth kid overall.
On Monday, the SpaceX CEO wrote on Twitter that “Mom & baby all good,” while also confirming they had a boy.

He also revealed on the same night that his newborn’s name is X Æ A-12.
Initially, many believed the tweet was a joke but the following day, the Oblivion songstress explained the thorough meaning behind the name - confirming it’s true.
She wrote on Twitter: Ӯ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence).
"A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent + (A=Archangel, my favorite song).”

The name has gone on to create a wave of internet memes with many questioning how to even say it correctly.
Elon cleared up confusion when he told podcast host Joe Rogan, 52, how to properly pronounce the moniker yesterday.
"First of all, my partner is the one that, actually, mostly, came up with the name. Yeah, she’s great at names," the tech mogul said to the comedian.
"I mean it’s just X, the letter X. And then, the Æ is, like, pronounced ‘Ash.’
"And then, A-12, A-12 is my contribution. Archangel 12, the precursor to the SR-71, is the coolest plane ever.”
