MINA Kimes is one of the most well-known NFL analysts in the country.

But the ESPN star looked unrecognizable in a throwback image during her time as a business writer, which she joked was during her "post punk and hardcore era."

Over the Thanksgiving break, a fan shared a screengrab from an appearance Kimes made years ago on public affairs network C-SPAN as a writer for Fortune magazine where she talked about the railroad industry.

"No shade at all to Mina Kimes, she does good work, but this old clip of her on C-SPAN talking about railroad monopolies is a little like seeing the cast of It's Always Sunny doing Shakespeare," the fan joked on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The image quickly went viral and Kimes responded: "Hair and makeup saw my The Cure pin and said I got you."

When asked by a fan "Was that Goth Era Kimes?" she replied: "Only had post punk and hardcore eras."

NFL fans had plenty of jokes about Kimes' appearance.

"She looks like one of the goth kids on South Park," one said.

"Emo phase," another added.

"I low key love her hair this way," a third said.

The social media post gained even further traction when It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney got in on the action.

"No shade at all to @ShadowTodd but I think we can take this to broadway @minakimes," he posted, using an image of the cast.

Kimes had an unusual career trajectory to becoming a top NFL reporter for ESPN.

The Yale graduate began her journalism career as a business reporter for Fortune before moving on to Bloomberg.

She joined ESPN in 2014 and quickly moved from writing into appearing on-screen, with appearances on shows such as Around The Horn as well as First Take, Highly Questionable, The Dan Le Batard Show, Pardon the Interruption, and High Noon.

During the summer, Kimes revealed she was pregnant at the ESPY Awards in a bombshell announcement.

It is unclear when Kimes will begin her maternity leave and for how long of a period.
