One DIY dad has shared his alternative solution on TikTok, and it’s divided the internet.
If you thought chia seeds were only for your breakfast bowl, think again. Dad-of-two Justin Flom has stunned homeowners by growing a lawn on his loo seat.
Over 400,000 people have tuned in to watch Justin’s two-minute tutorial, which he captions: “How to grow grass on your toilet for comfort.”
The video begins with a fully-clothed Justin straddling his loo seat while holding a pair of children’s leggings. He ‘dresses’ the toilet seat, fitting the garment snugly over each side of the seat.

Next, he produces a big bucket full of water and adds chia seeds. The packets show a picture of an ornamental cat covered in grass - a sneak peek at what’s to come.
Justin mixes the concoction until it resembles a glue-like texture, then spreads it onto the leggings-covered loo seat using his hands.
He adds a child’s sock to each end of the seat and covers both with the seed mix.
A neon bodycon skirt is then produced and dunked into the toilet bowl with more seeds. He then stretches it over the whole cistern and adds yet more seeds.

The video jumps to one day later, and Justin’s seen spraying water onto the seed-covered loo. Grass is clearly beginning to sprout.
The next day, he covers the seat and cistern with white bin bags. Days later, he uses scissors to cut the bags away. The result is a loo covered in an inch of soft green grass.
Justin’s wife gives the seat a try, and it’s clear the family will have warm and comfy bottoms this winter. The family is happy, but what about the internet?

Viewers have been stunned by Justin’s cool creation, with most sharing their confusion and purely asking ‘why?’.
“Can’t talk right now, mowing my toilet seat,” jokes one viewer.
“When peeing outside isn’t an option,” replies another.
Some wished Justin and his family luck with cleaning the grass-covered loo, while others had no words to describe their bewilderment.
