Danielson seemed to think Nessler was wrapping up the broadcast and reached out his hand for a handshake.
But Nessler unwittingly left Danielson hanging and continued to speak for another roughly 30 seconds.
"Finally, I think just to say, you know, whether you're in your favorite bar having a beer, you're in your easy chair at home, or you're watching us streaming on your devices, whatever," Nessler said.
"We want to thank you, the fans and the viewers and everybody that's been with us every Saturday at 3:30 for the SEC on CBS."

Danielson then reached his hand out again and said, “Way to go, partner" and the pair finally locked hands.
“Goodnight from Atlanta," Nessler added.
CBS then played a montage of highlights from its time broadcasting SEC games over the past 28 years.
Nessler and Danielson's emotional goodbye appeared to pull on the heartstrings of many fans watching from home.
